I have a 20 gauge 870 Fieldmaster. I was thinking of adding a rifled barrel if I could find one. Would an express barrel work with the fieldmaster?

I would think so, the Express version is basically the same shotgun with a lower grade finish.

If you’ll be hunting in the woods, consider a saddle mount and optic with an open choke and good slugs like Brennekes or Federal TruBalls. A Special Purpose Turkey 12 I set up would put 3 Brennekes into 3-4” at 100 yards with the IC choke.

The barrels will interchange. I have a Fieldmaster 20 gauge and bought a 21" express barrel here on the fire. It fits and works perfectly.

My son has an 870 Express. He bought a rifled barrel for it that was made by Mossberg. It is very accurate and not at all fussy about brand of sabot slug.
