Any of you shooters here have any feedback on the savage LRPV?
I was hoping to get some feedback on this beast of a rifle.
I bought an LRPV action several years ago stocked it and shot it as a 6mmBR at the local Varmint for Score matches. It's since been re-barreled to 30BR and I love the action, trigger and versatility.

I've helped set up two others for bench games with similar results.

I bought a Savage LRPV rifle in 6.5Creedmoor and have to say MY factory barrel can't compete with the match grade tubes I put on the others.
Mine is a solid 1 MOA barrel with Nosler,Barnes, Hornady,Berger in 120-140gr weights.
Not bad at all but I raised the bar with match grade barrels first, so It's hard to settle for a little less accuracy.
I've seen others that shoot somewhat better than mine so I can't predict what the average might be.

Who knows, I may get an itch for a barrel upgrade, again.
On a Savage It's a snap to swap em out.
I have two, one in 204 Ruger and one in 22-250. They are my absolute favorite prairie dog setups. Over the past few years, I don't shoot my other Savage varmint guns like I used to. The heavier barrel, the trigger, the overall weight, all lead to better stability and great accuracy. I am leaning toward selling the two VLP's and replacing them with LRPV's. I wish I had bought the LRPV's sooner.
I have a 6BR that shoots really well but I need to sell it.....
Are the LRPV discontinued?

Great guns. Have had a few. Currently only have one lrpv in 22-250. Shoots outstanding for a factory rifle. My friend has the same gun with almost 4k round Thru it and still shoots pretty good groups. The other ones I have re-used the actions and added aftermarket barrels and stocks. It’s an illness once you start swapping barrels, but it’s fun.

have to agree

bought my first HB Savage on a dare back......1998 maybe

Police Rifle...tupperware stock...223.heavy 9 twist 24" barrel

Kept going from there...concentrating mainly on the s/shot actions

Ran across some 'M' series s/shots....blue & SS 24" heavy barrels....dirt cheap

Believe they were leftover ML actions..large shank....223's

Have since then stepped up to the Target Actions...4.41" spacing..large shank threading

Still have a few set up as p/dog rigs....20-222..223AI..222 mag.......etc

Have always used Pac Nor for my barrel source........never got a bad barrel

Swapping barrels on Savage actions is fun...although have slowed down over the years

I've always preferred the Pac Nor over the rough Savage barrels

I’ve got one in a 220 swift. Killed several deer and pigs with the 60grain Nosler partition
