Rifle is a Christensen Arms, which has a 700 footprint, These bases should be correct, Then either of these 2 rings should work? And if so, does the Backcountry’s justify the additional 40 bucks? I’m just not familiar with Cross Slot rings. TIA.

I haven't checked all the models, but here's one: https://christensenarms.com/mesa/If you hit the "action" button it says 700 optics base compatible.

Yes, agreed, so are both rings compatible with these bases? I believe so, however………

I have 2 Mesa’s and they do take Rem 700 bases so the base you have will work. That base is a “weaver style” base and both sets of rings you pictured will work with either a weaver style base or picatinny rail.

Kenneth….I can’t say for sure looking at it on my device but I believe you have Weaver “style bases and a picatinny style ring which I don’t think will work. You might need to get Rem 700 2pc picatinny bases for those rings?
I can’t say for sure….just shooting from the hip.
Good luck.

Backcountry are Pictatinny and Weaver, Also lighter by 1.1 oz. Both weighed in the package, The weight diff might be part of the 40 buck diff.

The weight difference is because the backcountry rings are aluminum and the LRW rings are steel.
Yes 700 bases fit your rifle.

Picatinny is bigger than Weaver. Weaver rings will have the cross slot part fit both, while picatinny rings won't fit onto Weaver bases.
It's almost better to just get picatinny bases so the rings will all fit into the slots. It eliminates the "damn, these picatinny rings don't fit in my Weaver bases" scenario that will eventually happen.

If you must, you want the LRW rings with that set of bases. The Weaver cross slot is a wee bit narrower than a pic rail slot. The cross bolt lug is a wee bit bigger on a pic ring, correspondingly. As such, a weaver ring will fit into a pic rail, but a pic ring will not fit into a weaver base.
However, imo, you can do better. Skip the Weaver style bases and rings altogether. Go 1913 on the whole system. Much more universal and arguably stronger.

Appreciate everyone’s thoughts, but it’s a done deal… Box of goodies from Midway was not expected till Monday, However it showed today, Brass, Dies, Bullets, But I had not ordered rings or bases yet, Was undecided, till this morning till I checked the Tracking from Midway. All we need now is rings and bases and we can shoot tomorrow, Nothing says Funday like Sunday at the range, with a a new toy, So off to Cabelas we go,,, And here are, Went with the Backcountry Mediums , and not sure I would want lows (if available) due to clearance with the usual suspects. Again, appreciate your help.
